Full Description

Rectangular milestone, painted white, with lettering under two adjacent arches: GLEADLESS/7/MILES and CALVER/7/MILES. (1) Milestone almost opposite Common End Cottages, on the south side of a former turnpike road. The stone is 21" wide, 4" deep and has a visible height of 16". It may date from c. 1818. (2)
