Full Description

The Silence Engine Mine is marked as disused on the 1st ed. 25" OS map c. 1880. (1) The site has had no recent archaeological site visit, but aerial photographs suggest the hillocks have been largely removed. There are the ruins of a small building used for gangue processing and a disused shaft. (2)
