Full Description
The outbuilding behind the Derwent Hotel was built in the late 18th century from coursed squared gritstone with quoins, end brick chimney stacks and a welsh slated roof. It consists of two storeys of three bays with glazing bar sash windows with lintels and projecting cills. The ground floor has three quoined doorways, each with substantial lintels, and planked stable doors. It has been grade II listed for group value. (1)
There are coursed squared gritstone two-storey buildings behind the Derwent Hotel, which are not indicated on the 1811 survey. The buildings are currently in use as kitchens for the hotel. (2)
