Full Description

A Grade II listed, one and two-storey L-shaped wing, circa 1838 but not on the Belper Tithe Map (1844) so possibly circa 1845-507, by architect Giles Scott, and part of the Babington Hospital complex [SMR17059] originally designed as a workhouse for the Belper Union. Built in the Jacobean style of ashlar with quoins and a slate roof. The western adjoining Western range [SMR40183] is in a similar style. The wing has similar fenestration to the west range and entrance lodge [SMR40182]. (1)
