Full Description

A Grade II listed road bridge over the railway, dated c.1839, and built of red brick faced in sandstone ashlar and rock faced sandstone. The bridge has three elliptical arches, rock faced piers with pilaster strips continuing above, and an impost band. The voussoirs of the arches have been treated as channelled masonry filling the spandrels. There are end piers and a stepped stone band at the base of the shallow coped parapet. The bridge is on the main Midland Railway line. (1)
