Building record MDR16115 - 52, Town Street, Duffield

A Grade II listed, mid-18th century house built of red brick with painted stone dressings and a Welsh slate roof with one brick roof-ridge chimney-stack. The three-storey house has a chamfered stone plinth, stone first and second floor sill bands and a stone dentil eaves cornice. The east elevation is of three bays and has an off-centre doorway with a plain moulded stone surround ,and a raised and fielded panelled door. To the right there is a two-light small pane casement window under a segment head. To the left there is a canted bay through all three storeys, that to the ground floor replacing a 20th century shop window. To the left again is a broad rusticated elliptical carriage arch. The ground and first floor have a two-light segment-headed window either side of the canted bay. The second floor has a two-light window with a flat arch, either side of the canted bay. (1)
