Full Description

A grade II listed telephone box dating to 1921. It is constructed of pre-cast concrete, iron and wood. It is square in plan, with a wooden door with a six-pane window. The sides have similar windows. It has projecting eaves with a curved roof surmounted by a single enamelled sign to each side inscribed 'TELEPHONE', with above curly iron embellishments and a spearhead finial. The telephone box was originally situated within the grounds of Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale. (1)
