Full Description

A foundation wall was discovered in Trenches 2 and 3 but no return was found. Traces of limewash suggest that the wall may have enclosed a long thin passage (open at either end) and was perhaps used as a drying area for pots. A stone wall discovered at the base of the brick wall in trench 3 may also have been from a possible workshop or other building. Trench 9 revealed what looked like part of the dairy wall, close to the north end. An undisturbed pot tip was also discovererd which contained a substantional number of Ticknall bottles (1).
