Full Description

The ramparts believed to be the couterpart of the defensive ditches identified by the Biddles in the 1970s enclosing an 'D-shaped area between tST Wystan's church and the bluff over the Trent. To date no evidence has been put forward for the existance of these ramparts, but it is suggested that St Wystan's church formed a part of the defences along with the ditches.
