Full Description

?SK 2456. Barrow on Brassington Moor, opened by H. Rooke in 1788. He found pottery, bone and an iron knife blade, (5 in long) with remains of a wooden handle. (1) An alternative account suggests the barrow may have been on Hopton Moor to the east of Brassington Moor (?SK2555). The site must be considered as lost/destroyed. (3)
