Group of cairns on Stanton Moor [SK 2475 6287]
T.6. Cairn, 14 ft. in diam, excavated 1930 when the disturbed centre was found to contain fragments of overhanging rim urn and cremated bone and another burial was found on the E. edge, beside a ring of stones which edged the cairn. An extension on the S.W. covered a collared urn containing a cremation. [
SK 2479 6290] T.7. A cairn of sandy soil and stones, 14ft. across and 2 ft. high; it was ringed with larger stones. There were 3 cremation burials, 1 at the centre. One of the others was contained in a collared urn.
[SK 2476 6286] T.22. Cairn, diam; 17ft, height 2 1/2 ft. with a stone ring around it. There were 2 burials here, neither central. One was deposited in a collared urn.
[SK 2474 6285] T.23. Only 8 ft. in diam. and added late to the group of cairns around it. There was a pile of burnt bones under a stone at the centre.

[SK 2471 6285] Burial mound (3)
(1-3) A cluster of cairns centred at SK 2476 6288 has been so completely excavated that nothing remains but circular depressions, partially infilled and surrounded by haphazard heaps of stones. (4) The remains of cairns nos. 65,6,44,45,46,22,28,&47. surveyed at 1/2,500. No trace of the remaining four cairns was seen. (5)
