Full Description

Bronze palstave, or half-socketed celt, six inches long and found upon Winster Moor, in 1766. The artefact was in the Bateman Collection from White Watson's collection, but it is now in Sheffield City Museum. (1,2). As the grid reference given is only four figures long and the precise location of the findspot is unknown, the point has been removed from the map. (3).
