Full Description

A large basalt axe-head was found upon Winster Common, in about the middle of the 18th century. (1) This implement is in the private collection of Mr J. Heathcote, Birchover. He has no siting information, the find being received from his late father. (2) As the grid reference given for this findspot is only four figures long, the point has been removed from the map. (3)
