Full Description

SK 0485 8500: Hayfield, Roman Road: That part of the Roman road from Buxton to Glossop which passes through Hayfield. (1, 2) The line of the road suggested (3) passes through The Firs, SK 04538586. The site was visited in 1993 following soil removal for a barn. There was no indication of a Roman road (4).
