Full Description
Turnpike Cottage. Single storey stone cottage tollhouse, with projecting gable doorway, was built by Holbrook and Sheffield Trust. It is now extended to the east. (1)
Turn Pike Cottage, Red Lane, Makeney is a grade II listed former toll house on the Derby to Chesterfield Turnpike of 1776. It is a single storey house on the road front built from coursed stone with a stone slate roof and an off centre gabled porch. The modern extension to the east side is of no interest. (2)
Authentic single-storey toll house on the Derby-Sheffield Turnpike. In good condition, in use as a dwelling. (4)
Toll bar cottage built for the Derby to Chesterfield Turnpike in 1756. Much renovated, but still showing something of its original outline. (5)
