Full Description

The Town Pump, Chesterfield, is an early/mid 19th century cast iron pump with a large bowl set on a tall stone plinth. The plinth, which may be earlier, is octagonal with four steps on the north side. The pump handle and spout are intact. John Wesley spoke from "the town pump" in 1777. Grade 2*. (1)
