Full Description
SK 3829 7108. No 1, The Shambles (Royal Oak Inn), is a 16th century timber-framed building of two storeys, jettied out over the ground floor which is now largely brick. Restored in the late 19th century. The building qualifies for a Grade 2* rating particularly for the upper windows in the timber framed part, which are probably now unique in the area. (1, 2)
