Kidsley is listed as a deserted medieval village. (1, 2) 'Kidesleage', possibly meaning 'Cyddi's clearing', is recorded from 1009 onwards. (3) (Kidsleypark Farm, shown at SK 416459 on OS 1:10000 1974; Kidsley Park is also listed as a medieval deer park, see SMR 25703).
