Full Description

Two trenches excavated to examine geophysical anomalies revealed several archaeological features including a shallow post hole and a number of intersecting ditches. The ditches were found to run along the same alignment as the present field boundary and may have been part of an earlier boundary. No dating evidence was found. (1) Visual inspection of the proposed route for a pipeline, no earthworks were visible. There were some localised dips in the ground-surface. (2)
