A coin of Offa of Mercia was found by metal detector in February 1982 a few miles east of Derby (findspot recorded confidentially). The coin was of the portrait type, c. 765? - 792 (Blunt 42; North 318) from a Canterbury or London mint, moneyer Ealhmund (1)
