Full Description
Cast iron milepost opposite the Rising Sun public house. On the Nottingham - Cromford Turnpike, inscribed ' Nottm 18, Ripley 4, Cromford 5'. The turnpike is dated 1766. (1)

The milepost is early 19th century and is a diamond-section cast iron milepost on a short circular shaft. The north-west face reads NOTTm 18 RIPLEY 4. The south-west face reads CROMFd 5. (3)
