Description
Early industrial housing, built by Strutts between 1792 and 1797. Coursed stone cottages, terraced and stepped up hillside. Slate roofs and brick chimneys, Nos 1 to 6 (consec) 2 storeys add small fabled attic dormers, the rest of 3 storeys. One window each, sashes to ground floors, rest are casements including top floor Strutt designed and forged 9 paned iron window, 4 panes of which form casement. First floor door and window have voussoirs. Some modem glazing, generally in the same spaces. Low coped street boundary walls and steps to front doors.
